Since Supergirl premiered in 2015, fans have heard plenty about the Daily Planet’s journalist Lois Lane. But now fans finally have a face to go with the name. Grimm actress Elizabeth Tulloch has been tapped for this season’s eagerly awaited Arrowverse crossover.

So far, details on this year’s crossover remain scarce. However, along with Lane’s debut, it was revealed that Tyler Hoechlin will return as Superman for the annual event.

Lane has been a staple of DC Comics, Superman titles in particular, since her comic debut alongside the Man of Steel in 1938’s Action Comics #1. The character went on to appear in all of the hero’s live action appearances since. While the crossover mark’s the first appearance of Lane, it is not the first time the Lane family has appeared in the Arrowverse.

During Supergirl’s first season, Jenna Dewan made regular appearances as Lois’ sister Lucy Lane. Glen Morshower also portrayed the sisters’ intimidating father, General Sam Lane, for a few episodes as well.

Along with playing the female lead on NBC’s Grimm for six seasons, Tulloch has also appeared alongside Will Smith in Concussion, opposite Paul Giamatti and Billy Bob Thornton in Parkland, and had a role in the Oscar-winning film The Artist.

The Arrowverse crossover kicks off on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at 8 PM on The CW.
