As revealed via Variety, Warner Bros. has announced plans to bring the adventures of Tom and Jerry and Scooby-Doo to the big screen.

Fantastic Four’s Tim Story has reportedly been tapped to direct the live-action animated feature Tom and Jerry. Using computer animation, popular cat and mouse will be brought to life in a action setting. Unlike 1992’s Tom and Jerry: The Movie, the titular animals will remain silent and rely on physical, slapstick comedy.

Chris Columbus, known for his work on Harry Potter, among other movies, will serve as creative director on the Scooby-Doo animated feature. Tony Cervone will direct the film with Kelly Fremon Craig writing the screenplay based on a draft by Jack Donaldson and Derek Elliott. Matt Lieberman penned first draft.

Along with Tom and Jerry and Scooby-Doo, Warner Bros. also announced plans for a Wile E. Coyote vs. ACME feature as well as a Jetsons movie. Chris McKay (LEGO) is shepherding development on the Wile E. Coyote film, while Matt Lieberman and Conrad Vernon (Sausage Party) are developing the Jetsons feature.

This news falls in line with recent reports that the studio is in deep development on Flintstones and Wacky Races features as well as a Space Jam sequel.
