Star Wars, original art, Disneyana, posters, and political memorabilia abound in Hake’s Auctions next major sale. Featuring 2,518 lots, the auction goes online Tuesday, October 23, 2018 and closes Tuesday through Thursday, November 13-15.

There are hundreds of posters from movies, theater, magic, war, concert, and advertising ready to adorn new walls. The extensive selection includes an impressive amount of movie one-sheets, three-sheets, inserts, and other sizes, such as linen-mounted one-sheets for The Mummy’s Hand, The Invisible Man Returns, Flash Gordon’s Trip to Mars, and Charlie Chan’s Courage. Music offerings are led by the 1962 Fabulous James Brown Famous Flames concert poster.

Over 500 items are available in the political section with campaign buttons, posters, ribbons, exonumia, and more from George Washington to Barack Obama. A few major highlights are the Hughes/Fairbanks jugate button on Erie County New York Ribbon and the “Vote Kennedy Congress” button from JFK’s first political campaign in 1946.

The original art section comprises nearly 200 comic book covers, pages, Sunday strips, daily strips, and specialty pieces. They are led by the Bruce Timm Batman Adventures: Mad Love comic cover depicting Harley Quinn, Alex Ross JLA: Liberty and Justice comic page original art in framed display, Jack Kirby Fantastic Four #36 comic page original art with Medusa and Frightful Four, and John and Sal Buscema Fantastic Four #299 comic cover original art.

Toys from the Star Wars Collection of Russell Branton continue with over 70 lots of action figures, playsets, and vehicles. They are led by the Star Wars: Droids Vlix AFA 60 EX action figure by Glasslite and the Villain Set three-pack Series 1 AFA 60 EX sample set containing Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, and Death Squad Commander.

The Disneyana section features 200 items, mostly from the ’30s to ’50s. The Mickey and Minnie Mouse glass vase, Mickey Mouse Club authentic Mouseketeer cast member outfit, and Donald Duck Shelby Bicycle store display with rare Donald Duck rider figure are sure to attract many bidders.

Additional pop culture, comic, and historical memorabilia featured in Auction #225 are a Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II production-used ghost trap film prop, Star Wars Power of the Force coin set with the Luke Skywalker variant coin, Ideal official Batman and Justice League of America playset boxed, huge Reddy Kilowatt figural floor display, and hundreds of comics, such as Flash Comics #1 CGC 0.5 and X-Men #1 CGC 6.5.
