In celebration of the life and legacy of the late Stan Lee, a special candlelight vigil and memorial reception will be held at the Holiday Inn Express on 3131 Nesconset Highway in Stony Brook, New York. The vigil is taking place Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 5 PM.

Lee spent much of his life in the Stony Brook area, and is one of the most famous residents of the Long Island community. Charlie Ziegler, president of the Tri-State Stan Lee Fab Club, is organizing the event along with several Stony Brook community leaders.

“Stan Lee was a member of the Long Island family and a major part of my childhood,” said Ziegler. “I fondly remember reading his comic books and imagining Stan Lee’s creations.”

Fans are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite characters co-created by Lee. The organizers will also be hosting a showing of Lee's various movies at the hotel.
