As fans anxiously await the return of the hit fantasy series, HBO took to Twitter to share a recap video and drop the premiere month for the upcoming season of Game of Thrones. The eighth and final season will hit the small screen sometime in April 2019.

Season seven saw Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys and her dragons lead an extremely large army into Westeros, where Lena Headey’s Cersei has become Queen. The Night King’s army was also making his way south where an all-out battle seems imminent.

While Game of Thrones is coming to a conclusion, HBO has already greenlit a prequel series set 1,000 years before the events of the fantasy epic. Naomi Watts and Josh Whitehouse have already been tapped for the prequel.

Based on the novels by George R.R. Martin, HBOs Game of Thrones stars Clarke, Headey, Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Sophie Turner, and Maisie Williams, among several others. The final season is executive produced by David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger, and Bernadette Caulfield.
