Principal photography on the standalone prequel series centered around devoted Wayne family butler, Alfred Pennyworth, is currently underway in England. Ahead of the 2019 debut on Epix, Pennyworth has tapped Polly Walker (Rome) in a recurring role as Peggy Sykes.

Sykes, the sister of Bet Sykes (Paloma Faith), serves as a major villain of the television series. Not only is the character a distinguished dominatrix in Lancashire, but she is also a fierce and loyal supporter of her sister.

Set in London circa 1960, Pennyworth tracks the titular character’s relationship with the Wayne’s, beginning with starting his own private security company with Thomas Wayne after his military service. The first ten-episode season is expected to air on the premium cable network sometime in 2019.

Produced by Warner Horizon Television, the series reunites Bruno Heller with Gotham’s Danny Cannon. Cannon will executive produce and direct the pilot, while Heller will write and executive produce.

Pennyworth stars Jack Bannon as Alfred Pennyworth with Ben Aldridge as Thomas Wayne, Paloma Faith as Bet Sykes, Jason Flemyng as Lord Harwood, Ryan Fletcher as Dave Boy, and Hainsley Lloyd Bennett as Bazza.
