Time to dust off those old Ray Parker Jr. lyrics, because the Ghostbusters are back. Jason Reitman has dropped the surprising news that he’s been quietly working on a new Ghostbusters movie.

Entertainment Weekly made the announcement, which includes details that Reitman – son of original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman – will direct and cowrite the script. Reitman stated that the movie is set in the world of the original 1984 film and its sequel.

Not long after the announcement, a teaser video was released that shows a quiet night outside an old barn in which someone is working on a mysterious machine. The familiar Ghostbusters score starts playing and the device finally kicks into gear as a bolt of energy shoots through the room and a canopy ruffles to reveal the back of the original Ecto-1.

The teaser video prompts plenty of questions, like who is in the barn, what is the Ecto-1 doing there, and most importantly – where are Peter, Ray, Egon, and Winston? Details are very limited at this point, aside from the news that the movie is set for a 2020 release.

For now, we’ll have to wait to learn if Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and the reclusive Rick Moranis will be involved. Cross the streams for good luck!
