Santa Barbara and Beverly Hills, 90210 actor Jed Allan died on Saturday, March 9, 2019. He passed in Palm Desert, CA at the age of 84.

A longtime character actor, Allan made his mark on several soap operas throughout his career. He starred in Days of Our Lives as Don Craig, for a 102-episode run from 1977 to 1985. A year later he joined the cast of Santa Barbara as C.C. Capwell, starring in a whopping 1,100 episodes until 1993. His next soap was marked by guest spots on Beverly Hills, 90210 as Rush Sanders, father to main character Steve Sanders.

Allan was born in New York City on March 1, 1935. While majoring in drama at the University of Washington, he supported himself by working as a radio and TV announcer, as well as a sportscaster. During the 1960s, he appeared on Broadway in productions of Viva Madison Avenue!, Oliver!, and Barefoot in the Park.

His onscreen debut came in 1951 on an episode of Love of Life and he got his first taste of soapy TV in a 1963 episode of General Hospital. He had a recurring role on Lassie, played a few characters on Adam-12, plus guest spots on Columbo, Mary Tyler Moore, Mod Squad, Love, American Style, Kojak, CHiPs, Silk Stalkings, Walker, Texas Ranger, and his final role was the TV series, The Bay.
