Crimefighting baddie Painkiller Jane is hitting the streets of New York once again and this time she’s bringing superheroic golem Monolith along for the ride in the new slimline OGN Painkiller Jane: Trust the Universe

Currently raising funds on Kickstarter, Painkiller Jane: Trust the Universe sees Jane team up with the monster that patrols the streets at night as they investigate a chain of missing children that leads them to a multistate human trafficking ring. Jimmy Palmiotti and artist Juan Santacruz lead this novel, alongside colorist Dan Kemp, letterer John J. Hill, and cover artists Bill Sienkiewicz and Amanda Conner.

Created by Palmiotti and Joe Quesada, Painkiller Jane originally debuted in 1995, while the Monolith was created in 2004 by Palmiotti and Justin Gray for DC Comics. Guiding the Monolith in his actions is former drug addict Alice Cohen, whose grandmother was one of those responsible for the Monolith’s creation back in the 1930s. Painkiller Jane: Trust the Universe will be the first new Monolith story in nearly 15 years.

Along with the main story, this hardcover will reprint a rare story by Palmiotti and artist Steve Mannion and Paul Mounts called “Monster.” It will also include a pin-up gallery showing some past covers and some new original pieces by Conner, Rick Leonardi, Mike Avon Oeming, and more.

By donating to the Kickstarter campaign, fans can pledge at a number of levels to score Painkiller Jane-related goodies, including a digital download of Painkiller Jane: Trust the Universe, a digital download of the writers process for the new graphic novel, Killswitch, Trigger, The Monolith #1-2, Trailerblazer, a hardcover copy signed by Palmiotti and Conner, a trade book package collecting Painkiller Jane: Trust the Universe, Painkiller Jane: The Price of Freedom and Painkiller Jane: 22 Brides, among other items.

The campaign ends on May 17, 2019.
