The six-part Disney+ miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Solider will be directed by Kari Skogland, according to a new report by Deadline.
Skogland is an Emmy-nominated and BAFTA-winning director who, in addition to being the CEO of Mad Rabbit, has directed episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale and The Rook. She also served as both executive producer and director of History’s Sons of Liberty, which won her the Directors Guild of Canada award for Best Director for a television miniseries.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will star Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, both reprising their roles from the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the two title characters. Other familiar faces to fans of the MCU will include Daniel Brühl and Emily Van Camp, who respectively portrayed Helmut Zemo and Sharon Carter in Captain America: Civil War.
The miniseries will debut on the Disney+ streaming service in the summer of 2020.
