Syfy has announced the cancellation of its two Image Comics adaptations, Happy! and Deadly Class.

Based on the comics by Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson, Happy! stars Christopher Meloni and featured the voice of Patton Oswalt. The comedy drama series opened to a breakout first season before struggling with ratings into the ten-episode second season that premiered in March. Happy! revolved around a contract killer (Meloni) who suffers from hallucinations in the form of a cartoon unicorn (voiced by Oswalt).

On Netflix, the first season of Happy! is reportedly the streamer’s top performing second window drama, leading to speculation the service may pick it up. The show is being shopped by Universal Cable Television, while Sony Pictures TV is shopping Deadly Class to other outlets.

Deadly Class, based on the ongoing series by Rick Remender and Wes Craig, had strong linear ratings but were reportedly not strong enough to renew. The high school assassin drama followed an orphan who gets recruited into a secret private school for assassins in the 1980s. The series stars Benedict Wong, Benjamin Wadsworth, Lana Condor, María Gabriela de Faría, Luke Tennie, Liam James, and Michel Duval.
