For their first convention, set for later this summer, Creature Feature Weekend has put together a film reunion for fans of B-horror movies. The con will host a gathering from Frankenhooker, including director Frank Henenlotter and stars Patty Mullen, who plays the titular character, and James Lorinz.

Released in 1990, Frankenhooker was a horror comedy about a medical student who attempts to reincarnate his decapitated fiancée by building her a new body made from Manhattan prostitutes. The movie is garish, grotesque and a favorite among midnight horror fans.

Along with presenting the reunion, Creature Feature will also host a showing of the movie on Friday night with live commentary from Mullen, Henenlotter, and Lorinz. Fans will get to hear their personal perspectives and stories of filming the movie, live at the con.

After the announcement, Creature Feature Weekend showrunner Craig Yastrzemski shared that those planning to attend the con have been very supportive and excited for the reunion.

“It is actually one of the nicest surprises to see people’s faces light up when they see that they will be here. First, they would light up to see Patty there and then when I explained that it is a reunion, they would almost glow,” Yastrzemski said. “When I explained that we were doing the movie with live commentary from all three, they would say one of two things. Either that they were excited about the chance to see it or that it is great to see a show doing something like that instead of just showing movies. Something more interactive.”

“For me it is something quite special,” Yastrzemski added. “I grew up watching Joe Bob Briggs on TMC and my introduction to Frankenhooker was on there. I have always had a love for Frankenhooker and have always believed it to be the greatest midnight movie of all time. I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to give this experience to everyone.”

Creature Feature will be held on August 30 through September 1, 2019 at the Wyndham Gettysburg, located at 95 Presidential Circle in Gettysburg, PA. Additional convention details and updates can be found on the Creature Feature website and Facebook page.
