The process of creating new stories and titles doesn’t end when the ink is dry, and the book is printed – it also needs to reach the audience through the media. That’s when small press publishers need to know how to get news coverage, previews, and interviews out to prospective readers.

The Comic-Con panel “How to Get News Coverage” will dive into the topic with a slate of industry pros. Comics journalist Rik Offenberger (First Comics News, Archie Comics) will moderate the panel of comic journalists who will talk about what they are looking for in press submissions.

Panelists include Tim Chizmar (Fangoria, co-chair of the Horror Writers Association, First Comics News), Glenn Hauman (Comic Mix), Jez Ibelle (First Comics News, Geek-a-pedia), Heidi MacDonald (Comics Beat), Alexander Raymond (Monstar Public Relations), Rob Salkowitz (ICv2, Forbes), Francis Sky (First Comics News, Massacre Twins), J.C. Vaughn (Gemstone Publishing), and Josh Waldrop (Red Gorilla Comics). Also included are independent comic creators Ed Catto (Captain Action, Bonfire Agency) and Holly Golightly (Broadsword Comics).

The panel will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM in Room 8.
