For years readers have debated the difference between a graphic novel and illustrated book. How should a 200-page comic story or a novel that is 100% filled with illustrations be defined? Those questions will be the topic of conversation during the Comic-Con panel “Graphic Novel or Illustrated Book: You Make the Call.”

A fresh wave of largely illustrated epics have entered the market, including books by William Stout (Abu and the 7 Marvels), Armand Baltazar (Timeless), and Mark Wheatley (Songs of Giants). These creators will be in on the discussion with Karen Green (Columbia University) and J.C. Vaughn (VP Publishing, Gemstone).

The panel will take place on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 2 PM to 3 PM in Grand 12 and 13 at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina.
