Put on the fancy, gothic attire and get ready to mingle with vampires and other ghoulies. The CW has ordered a pilot script for Dark Shadows: Reincarnation, a one-hour gothic horror drama, based on the original 1960s TV series.

The new show will be a modern continuation about the strange and mysterious Collins family of Collinsport, Maine. Blending fantasy and horror, the original series featured upper crust family drama with vampires, ghosts, werewolves, and other supernatural factors. The original soap opera series ran on weekdays from 1966 to 1971.

Dark Shadows was remade in 1991 but was canceled after one season and a Tim Burton-directed movie was released in 2012.

The new show will be written and executive produced by Mark B. Perry (Ghost Whisperer, Revenge). Additional executive producers are Michael Helfant, Bradley Gallo, Tracy Curtis, Cathy Curtis, and Tracy Mercer. Casting news was not announced.
