During New York Comic Con 2019, CBS All Access debuted the second trailer for the hotly awaited Star Trek: Picard. The 10-episode series stars Patrick Stewart, reprising his Star Trek: The Next Generation role of the iconic Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Stewart portrayed the deeply moral and highly logical Captain for seven seasons, with this new series taking place two decades after the events of The Next Generation

The clip shows an older, more brooding Picard facing retirement after his heroic commanding of the USS Enterprise. Picard’s retirement from Starfleet is short-lived when he finds himself protecting a young woman named Dahj (Isa Briones) from “serious danger.” Acting outside of Starfleet’s authorization, Picard must command a new crew to keep this mystery woman safe. But as Picard says in the voiceover, “no one’s ever safe from the past.”

Star Trek: Picard stars Patrick Stewart, Alison Pill, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera, and Harry Treadaway. Produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment, the series will premiere on CBS All Access in the US and Canada on January 23, 2020. On January 24, the show will be available to stream on Amazon Prime in more than 200 countries and territories.
