Comics powerhouse Mark Waid, has endured as one of the comic industry's most successful creators. Writing for DC, Marvel, and nearly every other major independent publisher. Given his expertise and knowledge, any aspiring comic creator would greatly benefit from the wisdom Waid could impart. Which is exactly why he's sharing his knowledge during a special one-day Comics Experience Master Seminar on March 18, 2017, entitled Comics Script Writing with Mark Waid.
Currently, Waid is the lead writer for Marvel's Black Widow and Avengers, as well as the iconic Kingdom Come for DC. He also runs his own publishing company, Thrillbent, which publishes his critically acclaimed comics, including Empire.
Throughout this intensive six-hour course, Waid will explain the process of imagining, outlining, and writing a story for comics before taking it toward publication. He'll also discuss the various decisions he's made along his career that contributed to his success.
“We're going to go over where ideas come from, how to shape them into stories, how to create pitches and proposals and full scripts, and much more,” Waid shared.
“Mark’s been an inspiration to so many creators, myself included. Years ago, Mark was my first editor and I learned so much from him and he so naturally communicates his ideas and lessons, that he's a perfect choice for a master seminar like this one,” added Comics Experience founder Andy Schmidt, who will host the seminar.
