Public praise for Diamond Comic Distributors President and CEO Steve Geppi’s donation to the Library of Congress continues to come in from around the country. The latest example (see photo) is from Congressman C.A. “Dutch” Ruppersberger, 2nd District, Maryland, who praised Geppi’s continued efforts to preserve and share the significance of pop culture and its history.
On May 30, 2018, it was announced that Geppi had donated over 3,000 items from his personal collection of comic books and pop culture memorabilia to the Library of Congress. The gift incorporates a wide swath of pop culture facets, including comic books, photos, posters, original comic book and comic strip art, newspapers, pinback buttons, the storyboards for Plane Crazy (the first Mickey Mouse cartoon Walt Disney produced), and many other rarities. The first items will be on display in Fall 2018.
