Following the announcement that bestselling crime novelist Lawrence Block and Eisner-nominated artist John K. Snyder III had teamed for a graphic novel adaptation of Block’s Eight Million Ways To Die, anticipation has been high. Now, ahead of the official July 2018 release, Block and Snyder are offering fans in New York City the chance to get their hands on signed copies nearly a month early!

First, on June 27 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, join the pair at the The Mysterious Bookshop on 58 Warren Street in New York, New York. This special event is free and open to the public. The following day, on June 28 from 7 PM to 8 PM, Block and Snyder are heading to Midtown Comics on 200 West 40th Street. Although an open signing, Midtown recommends attendees arrive early, just to be safe. There is also a limit of three items signed per attendee.

“I’m looking forward to both of these gigs, not least of all for the pleasure of JKS3’s company; we’ve bonded online but have yet to meet. It should be interesting to see what kind of gatherings we get. Mysterious may well be full of people who don’t have a clue who John is, while Midtown Comics is likely to overflow with staunch fans of his who’ve never heard of me,” said Block in his newsletter

Based on the celebrated story by Block, Eight Million Ways to Die follows troubled ex-cop turned unlicensed detective Matthew Scudder in the crime-ravaged city of New York circa 1980. After taking on his most dangerous case, hunting down a serial killer-hitman, the PI ultimately comes face-to-face with his deadliest enemy ‒ himself. Steeped in traditional pulp, this is the first graphic novel adaptation of Block’s work and his character who has been in 17 novels since his debut, over 40 years ago.

Unable to attend either signing? Not to worry, both The Mysterious Bookshop and Midtown Comics are currently offering signed copies for preorder.
