As part of Baltimore Comic-Con – taking place on October 18-20, 2019 – the Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards will be presented on October 19. The nomination process, inclusive of fans and comic book professionals alike, has ended. 

Voting on the final ballot is restricted to those in the comic book industry creative community, namely anyone involved in and credited with creating comics professionally. Comic pros can submit their vote at ringoawards.com.

In addition to final ballot categories, both fan-only favorites from the nomination ballot and Hero Initiative Awards (The Hero Initiative Lifetime Achievement Award and The Dick Giordano Humanitarian Award) will be presented at the ceremony. 

Here are the results for the 2019 Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards Final Ballot: 

Best Cartoonist (Writer/Artist): Echorise, Enjelicious, Terry Moore, Sean Murphy, and Jim Woodring.

Best Writer: Brian Michael Bendis, Richard Dent, Rylend Grant, Jeff Lemire, Scott Snyder and Brian K. Vaughan.

Best Artist or Penciller: Joe Bennett, Shawn Daley, Ezra Claytan Daniels, Steve Ellis, Ronilson Freire, Dan Mora, Dustin Nguyen, Ryan Ottley, and Sean Phillips.

Best Inker: J.P. Mayer, Mark Morales, Ron Randall, Fiona Staples, and Sana Takeda.

Best Letterer: David Aja, Arechan, Taylor Esposito, Jared K. Fletcher, and Todd Klein.

Best Colorist: Tamra Bonvillain, Steve Conley, Matt Hollingsworth, Rachel Smythe, Dave Stewart, Matt Wilson, and YaongYi.

Best Cover Artist: Travis Charest, Nick Derington, Dan Mora, Sara Richard, Alex Ross, Fiona Staples, and Jim Woodring.

Best Series: Batman: White Knight (DC), Bitter Root (Image), Black Hammer: Age of Doom (Dark Horse), Blammo (Kilgore Books), The Highest House (IDW), The Immortal Hulk (Marvel), and Venom (Marvel).

Best Single Issue or Story: Aberrant #4 (Danger Zone), Black Hammer: Cthu-Louise (Dark Horse), Champions #24 (Marvel), Klaus and the Crying Snowman (BOOM!), and Swamp Thing Winter Special (DC).

Best Original Graphic Novel: The Ghost, The Owl (Action Lab Entertainment), My Heroes Have Always Been Junkies (Image), Son of Hitler (Image), Upgrade Soul (Lion Forge), and Woman World (Drawn & Quarterly).

Best Anthology: Action Comics: 80 Years of Superman (DC), All We Ever Wanted: Stories of a Better World (A Wave Blue World), Femme Magnifique: 50 Magnificent Women Who Changed the World (Black Crown/IDW), Grief (Source Point Press), Twisted Romance (Image), and Where We Live, A Benefit for the Survivors in Las Vegas (Image Comics). 

Best Humor Comic: Bluechair (Line Webtoon), Get Naked, (Image), Love Advice from the Great Duke of Hell (Line Webtoon), MAD (DC), and Rick and Morty vs. Dungeons & Dragons (IDW).

Best Comic Strip or Panel: Amazing Spider-Man by Stan Lee and Larry Lieber (King Features Syndicate), Bloom County by Berkeley Breathed (Andrews McMeel Universal), Doonsbury by Garry Trudeau (Andrews McMeel Universal), Garfield by Jim Davis (King Features Syndicate), Luann by Greg Evans (Andrews McMeel Universal), Nancy by Olivia Jaimes (Andrews McMeel Universal), and Pearls Before Swine by Stephan Pastis (Andrews McMeel Universal). 

Best Webcomic: Age Matter by Enjelicious, Aztec Empire by Paul Guinan, Anina Bennett, and David Hahn, The Contradictions by Sophie Yanow, Existential Comics by Corey Mohler, Lavender Jack by Dan Schkade, Luff by Arechan, The Nib by various writers, and Nothing Special by Katie Cook.

Best Kids Comic or Graphic Novel: Aquacorn Cove (Oni Press), Be Prepared (First Second Books), Jupiter Jet (Action Lab Entertainment), The Nameless City: The Divided Earth (First Second Books), The Prince and the Dressmaker (First Second Books), and Punk Taco (Adam Wallenta Entertainment). 

Best Presentation in Design: Absolute Sandman Overture (DC), Berlin (Drawn & Quarterly), Madman Quarter Century Shindig (IDW), My Heroes Have Always Been Junkies (Image), Only Living Boy Omnibus (Papercutz), Persephone (BOOM!), Terry Moore's Strangers in Paradise Gallery Edition (Abstract Studio/Graphitti Designs), and Yellow Negros and Other Imaginary Creatures (New York Review Comics).
