An impressive run of Fiction House’s long-running Golden Age title, Jungle Comics, is now available on The Comic Book Exchange at ComicLink.com. The almost complete run of mainly high grade examples from the Jungle Comics run spans the Golden Age and runs from the very first issue published in January 1940 to the last issue, #163, published in 1954.

The collection features many examples that are the best existing copies. The collector who assembled this once-in-a-lifetime run focused on the best of the best, including such Pedigree examples as the Edgar Church/Mile High, Davis Crippen, Rockford, Cosmic Aeroplane, Lost Valley, Okajima, Big Apple, and Northford Collections. In some cases, the collection for sale includes two copies of the same issue and both examples are the two best existing CGC has ever graded.

“We are excited to be offering this incredible run of Jungle Comics on The Comic Book Exchange. For 20 years now, we’ve been bringing together buyers and sellers of the best in vintage comics and I have to say that this, along with the recently offered Jumbo Comics and Wings Comics runs assembled by the same consignor, is one of the more impressive runs of Golden Age books we’ve ever had the pleasure to host,” ComicLink president, Josh Nathanson, said.

Jungle Comics was part of the Fiction House line of comic book titles which included such famous Golden Age titles as: Jumbo Comics, which starred Sheena, Queen of the Jungle, as well as the aviation-themed Wings Comics; the science fiction title Planet Comics; Rangers Comics; and Fight Comics. The collector who put together the Jungle Comics run also collected many of these titles as well, some of which have already gone up on The Comic Book Exchange and others that are still to come in the near future. Jungle Comics featured Fiction House's stable of exotic Tarzan-esque heroes, including Ka'a'nga, whose success led to his own solo title, and Wambi, a favorite of young readers.

Some of the highlights of the Jungle Comics collection include #1 (Lou Fine cover, first appearance of Ka'a'nga and Wambi) CGC 8.5, #2 CGC 8.0 Cosmic Aeroplane, #3 CGC 8.5 Rockford, #20 (highest graded) CGC 8.5 Pennsylvania, #32 (double cover, single highest graded) CGC 9.6, #44 (single highest graded) CGC 9.2 Davis Crippen, #62 (highest graded, one of two) CGC 9.4 Mile High plus the other CGC 9.4 example as well, #64 (single highest graded) CGC 9.4, #66 (highest graded, one of two) CGC 9.6 Mile High plus the other 9.6 example as well, #74 (highest graded, one of two) CGC 9.4 Lost Valley, #75 (single highest graded) CGC 9.4 Mile High, #75 (single highest graded) CGC 9.4 Mile High, #79 (single highest graded) CGC 9.8 Mile High, #79 (one of top two overall) CGC 9.6 Big Apple, #80 (highest graded, one of two) CGC 9.6, #83 (single highest graded) CGC 9.6 Mile High, #93 (single highest graded) CGC 9.6, #96 (single highest graded) CGC 9.6, #139 (single highest graded) CGC 9.6 Mile High, and #163 (final issue, single highest graded) CGC 7.5 Northford.
