Pedigree Comics upcoming Special DC August Grand Auction will contain many new and recently graded Golden, Silver, and Bronze Age high grade DC comics, according to Pedigree President and CEO Doug Schmell. The auction is scheduled to begin in just over three weeks, on the night of Sunday, July 31, 2016 and last for ten days until the night of Wednesday, August 10 as a separate event on the Pedigree Comics website, www.PedigreeComics.com. There is no buyer’s premium on any of the lots in the auction and most of the items will have no reserve. Every book is CGC or CBCS graded and the minimum bid is only $100 for this Grand Auction. You can view over 300 items of initial lots in the Auction Preview beginning right now. Just go to the Pedigree Comics website and click on the Grand Auctions banner.

The Special DC Grand Auction will feature one of Pedigree’s best all-DC offerings of high grade Golden, Silver, and early Bronze Age books from all your favorite titles. Most of the books come from a few different consignments, including the high grade Miramar Collection that was consigned to Pedigree a few months ago. The Silver and Bronze Age Marvels were featured in Pedigree’s recently concluded June Grand Auction.

There are some absolutely amazing runs and groups of core DC titles including Action Comics, Batman, Detective Comics, Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman, Justice League of America, Superman, and Wonder Woman. The Batman, Detective Comics, Hawkman, Superman, and Wonder Woman runs are among the best ever offered in an online auction. The Batman run is the deepest with well over 100 books and contains many choice high grade issues from the early Golden Age to the early Bronze Age. The Detective Comics run is also stunning with some really nice Golden Age pieces plus many high grade Silver and early Bronze Age issues. There are similarly over 100 issues of Detective Comics to choose from.

The Hawkman run is a near-complete group of early Silver Age Hawkman #3-25, all in 9.4 and 9.6 grade. The Superman run features over 45 issues between Superman #2 and Superman #54 (some doubles are included), all in 7.5 to 9.4 certified condition and most in 8.0 and higher and the Wonder Woman run features a fabulous group of 20 early Silver Age issues between #120 and #144, all in high grade and 12 in 9.4 and higher. These Wonder Woman comics come from an original owner collection out of California that Pedigree purchased in November 2015 and are spectacular.

Each week prior to the auction opening, Mr. Schmell will be highlighting a run from the collection. The spotlight this week is on the early Silver Age Wonder Woman run. These books are gorgeous and almost everyone has off-white to white or white pages. A few are the highest certified copy too. They include Wonder Woman #121 9.2, #125 9.2, #127 9.6, #127 9.4, #128 9.4, #129 9.2, #130 9.6, #132 9.2, #133 9.4, #134 9.6, #136 9.4, #137 9.4, #139 9.4, #140 9.4, #141 9.4, and #144 9.4.

Check www.PedigreeComics.com and the Latest News section plus Scoop over the next four weeks for all the latest and last minute additions to the auction, including the grades on the final batch of approximately 40 DC books for the auction that are currently at the CGC offices awaiting certification.

The higher the value of the comics sold in a Grand Auction, the more money the consignor takes home under Pedigree Comics’ Climbing Scale as follows:

10% Commission
for any consigned item that sells up to $10,000 (Consignor's Proceeds = 90% of the final bid price);
9% Commission
for any consigned item that sells over $10,000 and up to $25,000 (Consignor's Proceeds = 91% of the final bid price);
8% Commission

6% Commission
for any consigned item that sells over $50,000 and up to $100,000 (Consignor's Proceeds = 94% of the final bid price);
5% Commission
for any consigned item that sells over $100,000 (Consignor's Proceeds = 95% of the final bid)

There are three easy ways to consign your books to any of Pedigree's upcoming Grand Auctions. The only criteria is that the books must be CGC or CBCS graded and worth no less than $100. If you have high grade raw books that you want to have certified and sold in the Grand Auction, you can utilize Pedigree’s Raw To Riches Consignment Service, in which they will have your books certified under their account and will lay out all the CGC or CBCS grading fees in advance for you (refer to the website and their Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide advertisement for all the details of the Raw to Riches Consignment Service).

To consign you can ship your books directly to their offices in Wellington, Florida. They will inventory, scan, and upload each book into the Grand Auction listing. The books will be listed under your personal account and you will receive email notification at the conclusion of the auction with a list of every consigned book that sold along with the winning bid made.

Email the scans of the books you wish to consign directly to them at DougSchmell@pedigreecomics.com. They will format and upload each scan onto their server and then put each book into the Grand Auction listing. Use a .jpeg format with the resolution set at 72 and the pixel width at 550 for optimum clarity. If you do not have a scanner you can use a digital camera.

You can upload your own scans, item information, book descriptions and reserve amounts, if any, by utilizing their Automated Consignment System. Just register onto the site and login, click the “Customer Page” tab under “Your Account” and then click “Consignments” (under the “Auctions” heading). You will then be able to enter the Pedigree Comics Consignment Management System and list your own CGC or CBCS certified books and magazines. Pedigree will receive an email once you have uploaded the scan and book information for each individual item into the system and they will then review the information imparted for accuracy. The items will then be added to the Grand Auction listing to be bid on. You will be amazed how simple it is to use the Automated Consignment System.
