“Many of these clothing pieces and other items have only been worn once, and many were never worn at all and still have the original tag,” said Ed Nadeau of Nadeau’s Auction Gallery. “This promises to be an exceptional auction, with a depth of couture and high end, ready-to-wear that is seldom seen. It’s also an exciting glimpse into the closet of an elite, fashion-minded socialite.”

The identity of the socialite has not been revealed, at the request of her estate. However, the names of the designers whose labels this dedicated fashionista bought and wore are no secret. “These are just a few of the gorgeous offerings that will be sold May 14,” Mr. Nadeau said.

Previews are scheduled for Thursday, May 5, from 4 PM to 6:30 PM; Friday, May 6, from 3 PM to 5 PM; Thursday, May 12, from 12 PM to 6:30 PM; Friday, May 13, from 12 PM to 5 PM; and Saturday, May 14, the date of auction, from 8:30 AM until the first gavel falls at 10 AM ET; or by appointment. “I suggest coming to the earlier preview dates,” Mr. Nadeau suggested. “The later dates are expected to be extremely busy. Also, limited fitting rooms will be available.”
