Pedigree Comics’ upcoming Special DC August Grand Auction will contain many new and recently graded Golden, Silver, and Bronze Age high grade DC comics, according to Pedigree President and CEO Doug Schmell. The auction is scheduled to begin in just two days, on the night of Sunday, July 31 and last for ten days until the night of Wednesday, August 10 as a separate event on the Pedigree Comics website, www.PedigreeComics.com. There is no buyer’s premium on any of the lots in the auction and most of the items will have no reserve. Every book is CGC or CBCS graded and the minimum bid is only $100 for this Grand Auction. You can view over 400 items of the initial lots in the Auction Preview beginning right now. Just go to the Pedigree Comics website and click on the Grand Auctions banner.
The Special DC Grand Auction will feature one of the best ever all-DC offerings of high grade Golden, Silver, and early Bronze Age books from all your favorite titles. Most of the books come from a few different consignments, including the high grade Miramar Collection that was consigned to Pedigree a few months ago. The Silver and Bronze Age Marvels were featured in Pedigree’s recently concluded June Grand Auction
There are some absolutely amazing runs and groups of core DC titles including Action Comics, Batman, Detective Comics, Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman, Justice League of America, Superman, and Wonder Woman. The Batman, Detective Comics, Hawkman, Superman, and Wonder Woman runs are among the best ever offered in an online auction. The Batman run is the deepest with well over 100 books and contains many choice high grade issues from the early Golden Age to the early Bronze Age. The Detective Comics run is also stunning with some really nice Golden Age pieces plus many high grade Silver and early Bronze Age issues. There are similarly over 100 issues of Detective Comics to choose from.
The Hawkman run is a near-complete group of early Silver Age Hawkman issues #3-25, all in 9.4 and 9.6 grade. The Superman run features over 45 issues between Superman #2 and #54 (some doubles are included), all in 7.5 to 9.4 certified condition and most in 8.0 and higher and the Wonder Woman run features a fabulous group of 20 early Silver Age issues between #120 and #144, all in high grade and 12 in 9.4 and higher. These Wonder Woman issues come from an original owner collection out of California that Pedigree purchased in November 2015 and are spectacular.
The spotlight this week is on the final batch of approximately 50 high grade Silver and Bronze Age DC comics for the auction that were just recently graded by the experts at the CGC two weeks ago. These books are spectacular and were just recently scanned and added to the Auction Preview earlier this week. A group of over 20 comes from an original owner collection out of Ohio and many of these books are the highest certified copy and have white pages.
