Metropolis Collectibles and ComicConnect shared a space to much success at last weekend’s New York Comic Con the companies told Scoop. “We love getting out of the office and into the crowds,” Vincent Zurzolo, Chief Operating Officer of the Manhattan-based investment comic dealer said. “Long ago, I sold comics on the streets and I just love the hustle and bustle of New York Comic Con. There’s nothing else like it!”

Some of the notable sales included Batman #1 CGC 6.5 R for $25,000, Adventure Comics #49 CGC 9.4 $8,000, Captain America Comics #10 VF- $4,000, Human Torch #8 CGC 6.5 $3,860, the Keith Giffen cover to Omega Men #2 $3,750 plus large runs of Amazing Adventures, Detective Comics, Sensation, Amazing Spider-Man, and Feature Comics.

“We received a collector’s trove of Golden and Silver Age comics at New York Comic Con last weekend,” said Rob Reynolds, Director of Consignments for the auction house. “NYCC is our home turf and we always give it our all. We came home with high grade rarities and a slew of affordable keys.”

Reynolds said that his consignments included Adventure Comics #40 CGC 7.0 R, All Star Comics #8 CBCS 8.5 R, Avengers #1 CGC 3.5, Batman #1 CGC 7.5 R, Captain America Comics #1 CBCS 8.5 R, Crime Does Not Pay #24 CGC 2.0, Daredevil #1 CGC 4.0, Fantastic Four #1 CGC 1.0 Stan Lee Signature Series, Flash Comics #36 CGC 9.4 San Francisco copy, Green Lantern #1 CGC 4.5, Incredible Hulk #1 CGC 7.5, Incredible Hulk #181 CGC 9.6, Master Comics #16 CGC 9.4 Allentown copy, Showcase #22 CGC 4.0, Tales of Suspense #39 CGC 1.8, and X-Men #1 CGC 1.8.
