“We believe the Double Action #1, likely the rarest of all DC comics, came from the offices of Sol Harrison, one of the longest-serving members of the DC bullpen, who rose from colorist to production manager and finally to president of DC,” ComicConnect’s founder and CEO Stephen Fishler said. “In the combined 75+ years of experience in our senior staff, none of us, I mean none of us, have ever seen a copy of this incredible document.”

The Overstreet Guide, since nearly its inception, listed an issue 1, but, seemingly, no one had ever seen it, or, like Bigfoot, it was only seen by a friend of a friend of a friend. Did it really exist? Was it out there, somewhere, lying around someone's office, trapped in DC's files, or was it a hoax, perhaps a misheard rumor, a non-existent whisper, a ghost?

“ComicConnect is overjoyed to finally put the rumors to rest with this astonishing find,” Fishler said. “The elusive, long-thought-lost Double Action #1, is offered as a pairing with an incredibly high grade copy of Double Action #2.”

“This auction lot represents the rarest of the rare, the absolute pinnacle of any DC Golden Age collection, scarce does not begin to describe this book,” Fishler concluded. “Assembled in DC's offices and produced in incredibly low numbers, it's a miracle this copy even survived, but it has, and is in remarkable condition.” In addition, the Double Action #2 is one of the two highest graded copies on the census.
