In this week’s edition of Heritage’s Sunday Internet Comics Auction, they are listing a selection of 1950s pre-code horror books from Harvey Comics. The auction closes on April 30, 2017.

One of the highlights is Black Cat Mystery #34 CGC 9.4, featuring a 1950s bondage cover. It is one of just six known in this grade.

The auction has a group of Chamber of Chills from the early ’50s. They include Chamber of Chills #5 CGC 5.5, featuring a decapitation panel, acid in the face scene, and vampire cover by Le Elias; Chamber of Chills #10 CGC 7.0 showing two hikers in “The Cave of Death”; Chamber of Chills #15, with Lee Elias cover showing a man losing his mind in “Nightmare of Doom”; and Chamber of Chills #21 featuring a cover of a skeleton for the story “Nose for News.”

Other highlights are Out of the Night #5 CGC 7.5, which is just one of three copies Heritage has ever listed; Venus #13 CGC 4.5 with Thor and Mars fighting the “King of the Living Dead”; Astonishing #41 with Mort Drucker art, it is one of two copies Heritage has encountered; Strange Mysteries #8 CBCS 6.5, featuring a man burning alive and a severed head panel, it is one of only two copies they have seen and first certified copy; and Terrific Adventures #11 CBCS 4.5, Canadian publication with art by Ross Andru and Jerry Robinson.
