A group of high grade, key books graded 9.0 and above are offered Friday in Heritage Auctions’ May 19-20, 2017, auction in New York.

Offers include a group of Disney and character comics in grades from 7.0 to 9.4. Featured books are Four Color Comics (Series 1) #16 CGC 7.5 for the first comic devoted to Mickey Mouse and Large Feature Comics (Series II) #8 CGC 9.0 Vancouver Pedigree from the Robert E. Myer collection, featuring Bugs Bunny. Superhero firsts are an unrestored Superman #1 CGC 1.0 and The Incredible Hulk #1 CGC 6.5 with the famed fingerprint spotting found on Jack Kirby’s covers.

Other famous first appearances in Friday’s auction are Showcase #4 CGC 5.5 with the Silver Age Flash, Amazing Fantasy #15 CGC 4.0 the first appearance of Spider-Man, and Journey Into Mystery #83 CGC 7.0 with the first appearance of Thor.
