During Legend Rare Coin Auction’s 22nd Regency Auction, fierce online bidding helped prices realize strong results. The top lot of the auction was a fresh to market 1892-S Morgan dollar in PCGS MS64 CAC, which ended at $293,750.
“We knew early on that this coin would be a highly contested lot as soon as the sale opened for bidding online nearly four weeks prior to the live bidding. We knew several collectors who really wanted the coin, and in the end, the quality of the coin was evident with the record price realized,” shared Julie Abrams, President of Legend Rare Coin Auctions.
Another high result came from the 1994 Collection, namely a 1909 Roman Finish $20 in PCGS PR66 CAC realized for $193,875. From Part Five of the Northern Lights Collection, a PCGS MS68+ CAC Ex Sunnywood-Simpson 1880-S brought in $61,687. “Hundreds of new numismatists participated in this sale as bidders, and did they ever bid! We were more than happy with the results of our sale. It goes to show that the boutique style auction, and great venue provided by PCGS, really does attract serious bidders,” Laura Sperber, founder of Legend Rare Coin Auction noted.
