On September 13, 2017, Weiss Auctions will be offering an impressive selection of sports, animation, comic art, and comic memorabilia. The sale begins at 10 AM.

Several estate collections feature Golden, Silver, and Bronze Age comics, bulk lots of newer issues, and a high grade collection of 1950s horror comics. Among the selection of CBCS-certified comics is an Amazing Fantasy #15, Amazing Spider-Man #1, Avengers #4, Action Comics #70, X-Men #1, and many more.

Comic art to be highlighted during the sale includes an original Flash Gordon specialty piece by Alex Raymond, original comic art covers from the Joe Kubert Collection, original pulp illustration art paintings, and Charles Schulz original Peanuts Sunday page and daily strips. Animation art such as production cels and limited edition cels will also be featured, along with a huge collection of classic Disney figurines.

A collection of Weird and Strange Tales pulps – which were just recently opened after being wrapped in newspapers in the mid-1950s – are also being auctioned. This collection includes a nearly complete run of these pulp magazines, most of which are high grade and feature off white to white pages. Not to mention the scarce “Bed Sheet” issues, which are sure to shine in any pulp aficionados collection.

An incredible selection of sports and non-sports card will also be offered, along with a 1929 Philadelphia Athletics World Series ring, 1930 World Series tie clasp belonging to pitcher Jack P. Quinn, as well as signed baseballs and photos.
