Superhero movies are all the rage, box office records are constantly being broken, new TV series are being announced all the time, and comic conventions have hosted millions of fans year after year, and there seems to be no end in sight. But it is particularly heartwarming to see the fictional deeds of these beloved pop culture icons translate into real life heroic actions.

ComicConnect will be offering a beautiful one of a kind Spider-Man bust to their clients. It was designed by Ryan Meinerding, the head of visual development for Marvel Studios, and will be auctioned off to the highest bidder in their next Event Auction.

Meinerding got his start working on video games while attending the Art Center College of Design. He was hired to work on his first movie project, Outlander, which quickly led to a position on the crew of Jon Favreau’s John Carter of Mars, where his keyframe illustrations left a lasting impression on the director.

Favreau brought Meinerding on board to his new project Iron Man, the first film in what would become the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Meinerding was eventually named head of visual development based on his memorable character design work in many of the MCU’s blockbuster films, including Thor, Captain America, The Avengers, and recently Spider-Man: Homecoming ‒ the film from which this bust originated.

This bust was originally created as part of the Spider-Man: Homecoming #imaxorbust project. Now, through the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, this piece of comic movie memorabilia can be purchased by a collector. The proceeds will be used to help find a cure for the chronic neurodegenerative disease, which is the cause for 60-70% of all cases of dementia worldwide.

Painted with bright reds and deep blues, this Spider-Man bust recreates the classic Web-Slinger we’ve all grown to know and love since he first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15. It measures 31.35” tall, 20.5” wide, 11.94” deep and comes shipped in a beautiful, wooden museum-style crate.

ComicConnect expressed that they are proud to assist in the noble cause. Meinerding, the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, and ComicConnect will cover all expenses and donate all proceeds to the cause.
