In their upcoming Heritage Auctions’ Movie Posters event, the auction house will offer rare vintage movie posters from classic American horror flicks. The sale on April 7-8, 2018 will comprise 600 lots to be sold in Dallas, Texas.

“Our spring auctions traditionally offer posters with stunning images from some of the most iconic movies ever made,” Heritage Auctions Vintage Posters Director Grey Smith said. “We believe there are rare posters in this wonderful group for every taste.”

Among the top tier items in the sale is the only remaining Belgian poster for The Mummy. The 24-1/2” x 33-1/2” stone lithograph depicts Boris Karloff as the shrouded Egyptian Imohotep. It comes from Universal’s original European distribution.

A London After Midnight Argentinean one-sheet showing Lon Chaney will also be offered. This is one of the most highly-sought movie posters and this example is the first of its kind to appear at Heritage since 2009.

Another lot that is sure to draw a monstrous amount of bidding is the King Kong rare, oversized Swedish stone litho. Featuring “The Eighth Wonder of the World” rampaging through New York while holding Fay Wray, this piece comes from the Kirk Hammett Collection.

Additional highlights are The Seven Samurai Japanese STB tatekan that is believed to be the only known copy in existence, Casablanca postwar French release double grande, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes British six-sheet, Creature from the Black Lagoon one-sheet, The Lady Eve one-sheet, and This Gun for Hire one-sheet.
