Heroics and smiles can be found in Heritage’s current Sunday Internet Comics Auction, closing on April 29, 2018. This week, collectors have the chance to purchase Spider-Man calendar original cover art and Mickey Mouse illustration cel from The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

Some of Spider-Man’s popular foes are depicted with the superhero on the Marvel Artist The Amazing Spider-Man Greatest Villains Calendar 1995 original cover art. The ink over graphite on white Bristol board measures 10-1/2” x 10-1/2”. Spidey’s greatest enemies Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus, plus Venom, the Lizard, Kraven the Hunter, the Vulture, Rhino, the Scorpion, Mysterio, and Puma. In the lower right corner of the board, instructions are given to the inker to make Spider-Man stand out in front of the villains.

Disney’s most beloved character is a headliner this week with a Mickey Mouse The Sorcerer’s Apprentice book illustration cel. Mickey and the coffee pot floating in the water are on the cel overlay and the water and green step are painted on illustration board that measures 10” x 12-3/4”. Stylistically almost identical to an illustration in the 1974 storybook edition with some minor changes. This could mean that it was used in an overseas edition of 1940’s Fantasia, Disney’s third animated film.

The current Sunday Internet Comics Auction contains 673 lots of comics, original comic art, and memorabilia. Biding opens at 6 PM CT on Heritage’s website.
