Science guys rule in the current Sunday Internet Comics Auction at Heritage, as copies of The Amazing Spider-Man #1 CGC 2.5 and Tales of Suspense #39 CGC 1.8 hit the auction block. These and other lots will close on Sunday, June 17, 2018.
The Amazing Spider-Man #1 CGC 2.5 is an important key that retells the titular character’s origin with art and cover by Steve Ditko. It also contains the first appearances of supporting characters like Daily Bugle Editor J. Jonah Jameson, his son John Jameson, and the supervillain the Chameleon. This copy comes from the collection of Kevin Michael McFadden.
The first appearance of Iron Man, a/k/a Tony Stark the business dynamo and scientist, is found in Tales of Suspense #39 CGC 1.8. It also sees the debut of the villain Wong Chu, plus the first appearance and death of Professor Yinsen. This issue features cover by Jack Kirby and Don Heck with art by Heck, Ditko, and Gene Colan. This copy is also from the collection of Kevin Michael McFadden.
