Focus is on the god of thunder and the vampire hunter in Heritage’s current Sunday Internet Auction, closing on June 24, 2018. The original art highlights include a John Romita, Jr. Thor #16 double page spread, plus Gene Colan and Tom Palmer Tomb of Dracula #49 story page 6.
The John Romita Jr. Thor #16 double page spread 7-8 original art brings together one of the most popular superheroes with one of the greatest Marvel artists. The two-page spread depicts a clash between Hogun, the well respected Asgardian warrior and Thor’s friend, and Enrakt, a member of the Enchanters. Measuring 20-1/4 x 15-3/4, the art is ink over graphite and ink splatter technique on two sheets of Bristol board.
The Gene Colan and Tom Palmer Tomb of Dracula #49 story page 6 blade original art features an action scene from Marv Wolfman’s “And with the Word There Shall Come Death!” story. The page shows Blade fighting against his doppelgänger, dominated by an image of Blade in full vampire mode. Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board, the image area is 10” x 15”. It has some whiteout art/text corrections.
Featuring 874 lots of comic books, original comic art, and related memorabilia, the auction closes at 6 PM CT on June 24 at ha.com.
