A pair of Marvel lots are among the main highlights in Heritage’s current Sunday Internet Comics, Animation & Art Auction. A high grade copy of The Amazing Spider-Man #300 and Fantastic Four cel from the animated TV show will be sold on August 12, 2018.

The Amazing Spider-Man #300 CGC 9.6 cover depicts Spider-Man in his black Symbiote suit rather than the traditional red suit. This issue includes the origin and first full appearance of Venom, the sentient alien being with an amorphous, liquid-like form that attaches to a host to survive. With art and cover by Todd McFarlane, it also includes an appearance by The Thing.

Another major listing this week is a Fantastic Four production cel and painted background featuring Ben Grimm/The Thing and Johnny Storm/Human Torch. The pair were often at odds with each other, which is depicted in this cel after they were exposed to a compound that affects emotions. The pair stand 8” tall on the cel in a scene from the “Worlds Within Worlds” episode from October 21, 1995. The painted production background is from an unknown episode.

Interested collectors can browse through high resolution images for 930 lots of comic books, original art, and memorabilia in the Sunday auction. Bidding opens at 6 PM CT on ha.com.
