With great power comes great responsibility, and with Hake’s Auctions comes an exciting array of memorabilia and collectibles! Along with original art, movie posters and political items, Auction #226 also includes a wide selection of Spider-Man comics.

Kicking things off is an Amazing Fantasy #15 CGC 3.0, which features the debut appearance of Peter Parker, a/k/a The Amazing Spider-Man. This Silver Age comic also features the first Spider-Man cover appearance, drawn by Jack Kirby. 

Along with his first appearance, Auction #226 is also offering the first 100 issues of Amazing Spider-Man, which spans 1962 to 1971, and highlights tons of first appearances. 

This includes an Amazing Spider Man #1 CGC 6.0, which sees the first appearances of J. Jonah Jameson and The Chameleon as well as the first Fantastic Four crossover.

An Amazing Spider-Man #2 CGC 6.5 is also on offer and includes the comic debut of the Adrian Toomes’ Vulture and Phineas Mason as the Terrible Tinkerer.

The origin and first appearance of Otto Octavius, a/k/a Doctor Octopus, along with an appearance by the Human Torch is showcased in an Amazing Spider-Man #3 CGC 7.5. 

An Amazing Spider-Man #4 CGC 7.5 is also crossing the auction block and highlights the origin and first appearance of William Baker’s Sandman. 

Doctor Curtis Connors, better known as the Lizard, makes his debut appearance in a copy of Amazing Spider-Man #6 CGC 8.0. 

Showcased in an Amazing Spider-Man #13 CGC 6.0 is the origin and first appearance of Quentin Beck, a/k/a Mysterio. 

One of Spider-Man’s most notorious enemies, The Green Goblin (Norman Osborn) makes his debut in an Amazing Spider-Man #14 CGC 8.0. This issue also marks the first meeting between the Incredible Hulk and Spider-Man. 

An Amazing Spider-Man #15 CGC 8.0 features the first appearance of Kraven the Hunter and the second appearance of the Chameleon. It also includes the first mention of Mary Jane Watson. 

The origin and first appearance of MacDonald “Mac” Gargan, better known by his moniker Scorpion, is highlighted in an Amazing Spider-Man #20 CGC 9.0 

Spider-Man’s origin is retold in an Amazing Spider-Man #50 CGC 9.0, which also includes the first appearance of Wilson Fisk’s Kingpin. Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon also make cameos within the issue. 

Last, but certainly not least, is a copy of Amazing Spider-Man #129 CGC 6.5 signed by John Romita and Stan Lee. This highly sought-after Bronze Age issue features the debut of Frank Castle’s Punisher along with Spider-Man villain The Jackal.
