The complete Centaur Collection is crossing the auction block in ComicConnect’s current Event Auction #38.

Centaur Publications played a crucial role in the early days of the comic industry. The upstart publisher helped establish the format of the comic book, published the first single genre title, Detective Picture Stories, and even created the first masked crimefighter, the Clock.

The scrappy imprint also introduced Dr. Mystic by Siegel and Shuster, a character that predated Superman, along with other beloved cult heroes such as Amazing Man, the Arrow, the Eye, and the Fantom of the Fair.

“This collection is an incredible achievement by one of the most determined collectors in the hobby,” said Vincent Zuzolo, COO of ComicConnect. “I’m honored to have the opportunity to offer the books to our clientele. This is the first time every comic from Centaur Publications has been offered in one auction.”

The entire auction can be viewed on ComicConnect’s website.
