Inserts include House of Fear, Brain that Wouldn’t Die with art by Reynold Brown, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Not of this Earth, Batman, Spider, Attack of the Puppet People AIP, Tokyo Joe, Empire Strikes Back with Roger Kastel art, Mr. Peabody & The Mermaid, Barefoot Contessa, This Above All, Scanners with Joann art, Howling style D, Rear Window 1962 rerelease, On the Waterfront 1959 rerelease, Man with the Golden Arm 1960 rerelease, Paid to Dance, Alligator People, And Then There Were None, Union Pacific, Five Graves to Cairo, and Dark Crystal.
Half-sheets are Once Upon a Time in the West, Star Wars with art by Tom Jung, Raiders of the Lost Ark with Amsel art, Third Man style B, Brute Force style A, Executive Suite style B, Sahara, Whistle Stop style B, and High School Hellcats.
A few international examples include Japanese posters of Grave of the Fireflies, Salem’s Lot, and Evil Dead 2, French posters are Fantastic Voyage, American Graffiti, and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and an Italian Halloween locandina.
Three surprising results from the auction that closed on March 19 were a Thunderball one-sheet for $1,650, English Thing one-sheet for $499, and Hitler Gang style B one-sheet for $497, which is one of the greatest World War II propaganda movie posters.
