The latest ComicLink Focused Auction is now open with Golden to Modern Age comics and related artwork. There are thousands of comic books offered up within this auction, starting at $1 and with no seller reserve price. Within the auction is a large and diverse selection of scarce Golden Age comic books, and an extensive selection of key and high grade Silver Age to Modern Age comic books, most certified by CGC and CBCS. There are hundreds of original art pieces rendered by Golden Age to Modern comic book artists. Over 600 examples of original art are offered by hundreds of creators such as Jack Kirby, Bob Kane, Gil Kane, John Buscema, Neal Adams, John Byrne, George Pérez, and Adam Hughes.

The auction will begin closing early next week, starting with select key and high grade Silver Age and early Bronze Age (pre-1976) comic books. Lots will start closing Tuesday, June 25, 2019, and lots will continue closing on weekdays until the art session ends on Monday, July 8, followed by the conclusion of the of the premier CertifiedLink.com auction on Tuesday, July 9 with a great selection of other types of non-comic related collectibles including certified coins, cards, video games, and movie posters. The auction also features over 275 newly offered late Silver Age and early Bronze Age comic book lots from the extensive John G. Fantucchio pedigree collection, which ComicLink has been bringing to market over the past couple of years. Most of these are in high grade shape with many single highest graded examples. DC titles include Our Army At War, Star Spangled War Stories (including several “Enemy Ace” covers), Superman’s Girlfriend Lois Lane, Phantom Stranger, and World’s Finest Comics. Marvel titles include many examples of those mid-1960s square-bounds, Marvel Tales and Marvel Collector Item Classics as well as runs of the early Bronze Age series Outlaw Kid and Where Monsters Dwell. There are also runs of cult favorite titles like ACG’s Herbie, Charlton’s Thunderbolt (Peter Cannon), Judo Master, Sarge Steel, and Peacemaker, Gold Key’s Mighty Samson, and Archie’s Mighty Crusaders

The selection of Golden Age comic books in the auction includes items across all genres from superhero to pre-code horror, crime and sci-fi to good girl artwork, teen humor and romance. Many interesting covers from a variety of genres are offered, and numerous high grade examples are presented, some hailing from pedigree collections. A few of the hundreds of Golden Age offerings include such exciting items as Startling Comics #51 (Schomburg airbrush cover) CGC 9.6 (single highest graded) and several other examples from this title with Schomburg covers, a relatively affordable example of one of the most important comic books ever published, Batman #1 (first Joker, first Catwoman, origin of Batman) CGC 0.5 (Incomplete), and Detective Comics #62 (Robinson Joker cover) CGC 4.0. Timely/Atlas/Marvel material includes Human Torch #1 (first Toro) CGC 1.5 Slight (A) and #23 (Schomburg robot cover) CGC 5.0, USA Comics #16 (Schomburg Captain America cover) CGC 6.0, The Witness #1 (rare 1948 Timely/Marvel) CGC 2.0, Young Men #24 (first Atlas revival issue of Captain America, Human Torch and Sub-Mariner with origins) CGC 5.0, and pre-code horror classic Journey Into Mystery #5 (Everett cover) CGC 4.0.

There are dozens of rare pre-code offerings, including ECs and a large number of L.B. Cole covers. There are several outstanding Nedor/Better offerings including Exciting Comics #9 (first Black Terror) CGC 5.0, as well as Wonder Comics #11 (Ingels GGA cover) CGC 6.0, #20 (Schomburg cover) CGC 6.0, and others. Good girl art includes Suzie #51 CGC 7.0 (top four) and Jungle Comics #78 CGC 8.0. 

There is a very large selection of certified late Bronze through Modern Age comic books offered, many in high grade condition, with a large number of the key issues in numerous conditions. Examples include the rare Albedo #2 (first Usagi Yojimbo) CGC 7.5, X-Men #101 (first Phoenix) CGC 9.8, #105 (second full Phoenix) CGC 9.8, and #107 (first Starjammers) CGC 9.8, Amazing Spider-Man #238 (first Hobgoblin) CGC 9.8, #300 (first full Venom) CGC 9.8, and #301 CGC 9.8 Signature Series (Todd McFarlane and Stan Lee), Ms. Marvel #1 (Carol Danvers becomes a superhero) CGC 9.8, NYX #3 (first X-23, the female Wolverine) CGC 9.8, Eternals #1 (first Eternals) CGC 9.8, New Mutants #98 (first Deadpool) CGC 9.8, and Archie Comics #217 CGC 9.8 (highest, one of three).
