Balticon 50, the Maryland Regional Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention, is coming up soon. The con will be held on May 27-30, 2016 at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel, 202 East Pratt Street, Baltimore, MD.

The guest of honor is George R.R. Martin, author of the extremely popular A Song of Ice and Fire series. Guests of honor in different categories are John Picacio (artist), Bill and Gretchen Roper (music), Alexandra Duncan (author Salvage), B. Shirley Avery and Martin Deutsch (fan guests of honor), and Kim Stanley Robinson (2016 Heinlein Award recipient).

There will be panels, round tables, presentations, and workshops on anime, art, children, costuming, gaming, literary, science, music, poetry, web comix, and plenty more.

The convention is open Friday 2 PM through Monday 5 PM.

The dealers room is open Friday 2 PM to 7:30 PM, Saturday 10 AM to 7 PM, Sunday 11:30 AM to 8 PM, and Monday 10:30 AM to 3 PM.

The art show runs Friday 5 PM to 9 PM, Saturday 10 AM to 9 PM, Sunday 10 AM to 1 PM, and Monday 10 AM to 1 PM.

The game room is open Friday 3 PM to 2 AM, Saturday and Sunday 10 AM to 2 AM, and Monday 10 AM to 3 PM.

There will be an auction on Sunday at 2 PM.
