Get ready Virginia! MystiCon is returning once again, on February 24-26, 2017, and is promising to be an awesome weekend of sci-fi, fantasy, and pop culture. The event is located at the Tanglewood Holiday Inn on 4468 Starkey Road in Roanoke, VA.
MystiCon list of celebrity guests attending this year, are Sherilyn Fenn (Twin Peaks), Tony Todd (Candyman), David Weber (A Rising Thunder), Mark Davis (Fair Theater Company), Nathan Davis (Starship Gaming), Anita Allen (The Orphan's Tales), Charity Ayres (Secret in the Wings), Jaysen Buterin (The Decapitator), Roger and Janet Carden (Crimson Streets), Alexandra Christian (Little Red Hen Romance), Tony Daniel (Guardian of Night), Flynnstress (Geek Radio Daily), Steven Hancock (Doctor Who: A Dame to Kill), and John G. Hartness (The Black Knight Chronicles).
Not to mention Brian Holloway (The Patriot), John Johnson (Plan 9), David Lee (Trial of the Mask), JM Lee (The Novus Proprius Chronicles), Thor Macht (Hurt), Gail Z. Martin (Shadow and Flame) and many more. As well as the bands Consortium 499, Gild The Morn, Gothsicles, and Bella Morte. Famous Podcaster and media mogul, Rich Sigfrit, will be leading the three day convention as the Master of Ceremonies.
While MystiCon unveiled their full guest list, they have chosen to keep the event schedule a mystery, for now. No doubt, similar to past conventions, MystiCon will include activities centered around the enjoyment of literature, art, imagination, and camaraderie. One event they have announced is the return of the annual Independent Film Festival. This exciting showcase will feature full-length and short films, many of which have been provided by local filmmakers in Roanoke Valley.
The con is running nearly continuously, beginning on Friday at 2 PM and lasting until Sunday at 4 PM. Tickets are $40 for adults, $20 for kids 9 to 12 years old, and $5 for children 8 and under. A group rate of $30 is also available for parties of 5 or more.
