For over 50 years, Portland has celebrated L. Frank Baum and the Land of Oz. The annual convention is taking place on June 30-July 2, 2017 at the Airport Sheraton on 8235 Northeast Airport Way, Portland, Oregon.

Special guests attending include director/animator Doug Aberle (Return to Oz), Oz historian John Fricke, and author Inanna McGraw (Merry Go Round in Oz, The Forbidden Fountain of Oz).

This year OzCon will celebrate L. Frank Baum's eleventh Oz book, The Lost Princess of Oz, which turns one hundred this year. It also marks the 110th anniversary of another book, Ozma of Oz. OzCon will feature Oz quizzes, an Oz Treasure Hunt, Oz Research Table, Oz Dealers Room, Oz Show as well as Oz-based panels, displays, and after parties. Not to mention a live performance recreating the 1933-34 Wizard of Oz radio program and the OzCon Masquerade. A separate ticket will also grant you access to a riverboat cruise along the Columbia River.

The con is running almost continuously beginning Friday at 10 AM and ending Sunday at 3 PM. One-day passes for adults are $35 for each day, while a child’s pass is $17 for each day. A full weekend pass is available for $72 for adults and $37 for children. Children under 3 are admitted for free.
