“The best thing I can say about the inaugural year of I Like Comic Con is that we’re already excitedly planning year two,” show promoter Chris Simons said. “Having been to countless cons as an exhibitor and fan I can honestly say I’ve never seen so much love for the medium at a convention. I believe we captured lightning in a bottle and the most commonly overheard saying was, ‘It’s so great to have a con where the focus is on comic books.’”

Over 60 comic creators were in attendance, including industry leaders like Neal Adams, Jim Steranko, Mike Royer, and Howard Chaykin. The show was focused on the comics, which will likely prompt creators to return for another round at the show.

“At the panel about the history of our hobby and fandom, hearing Steve Borock, President of CBCS (Comic Book Certification Service), talk about what the medium meant to him got me so excited about comics, I felt like I was 12 years old again,” Simons said. “This fun panel also included such great hobbyists as Buddy Saunders (founder of mycomicshop.com), Steve Sibra (seller Herm2pipes on eBay), and Michelle Nolan (comic book historian).”

“I just want to thank every guest, vendor and collector who attended,” Simons added.
