Gear up Altoona residents, Sci-Fi Valley Con is rapidly approaching on June 8-10, 2018. The con is taking place at Blair County Convention Center on 1 Convention Center Drive in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
Special guests attending the show include Jim Beaver and Steven Williams (Supernatural), Rob Paulsen (Animaniacs), Richard Horvitz, Olivia D’Abo, Melissa Fahn and Rikki Simons (Invader Zim), Tracie Thoms (Death Proof), Lee Arenberg (Pirates of the Caribbean), Brian O’Halloran (Clerks), Tavisha Wolfgarth-Simons (Tavicat), Layne Calry (Secrets in the Shadows), Brian Middleton (Fanghold), Wayne Carey (Allan Quatermain), Robert B. Herring Jr. (Scars of Magician), Erin Kelly (Tainted Moonlight), Michael D’Ambrosio (Princess Pain), The Roost Podcast, C.S. Johnson (Starlight Chronicles) as well as cosplay groups The Pirate Empire and 405th Infant Division. Herbie The Love Bug, the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine, and Baby from Supernatural will also be at the show along with freelance artists Colin Richards, Ian Oz, Les Polinko, and Lou Paduano.
In addition to celebrity photo ops and autograph sessions, Sci-Fi Valley will also be hosting an exciting Con-Quest, charity auction, charity quick sketch, film festival, and various guest panels. There will be a free After Party on Saturday night at the Holiday Bowl, a costume contest with trophies awarded to the best costumes, along with tabletop gaming and trivia tournaments. Over 44 years of home video game console history will be available for game play in the Retro Gaming Arcade.
The con is running Friday 2 PM to 9 PM, Saturday 10 AM to 8 PM, and Sunday 10 AM to 5 PM. One-day passes for adults are $15 for Friday, $20 for Saturday, $15 for Sunday, with a full weekend pass available for $30. One-day passes for children 6-12 are $10 for any day, with a three-day pass available for $15.
