Otakon will be returning to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in downtown Washington, D.C. for their second year in the nation’s capital and their 24th overall convention. The three-day show will take place on August 10-12, 2018, and will be packed with plenty of events for even the most discerning otaku to attend.

One of the highlights of this year’s show is bound to be the “Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy” concert, which will be taking place on Friday at the show. This long-running concert tour features music by series composer Nobuo Uematsu, who is a featured guest at the show.

Other guests this year include voice actors Johnny Yong Bosch (Trigun), Ray Chase (Final Fantasy XV), Robbie Daymond (Marvel’s Spider-Man), Lucien Dodge (Sailor Moon), Josh Grelle (Attack on Titan), Todd Haberkorn (Fairy Tail), Cherami Leigh (Sword Art Online), Kyle McCarley (Mob Psycho 100), Erica Mendez (Aggretsuko), Max Mittelman (One Punch Man), and Bryce Papenbrook (Pokémon Origins). Japanese guests this year include voice actors Nobutoshi Canna (Macross 7) and Masaya Matsukaze (Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans), animator Yoh Yoshinari (Neon Genesis Evangelion), director Tatsuyuki Nagai (Anohana), and writer Hirokatsu Kihara (Tales of Terror: Haunted Apartment), among many others.

Otakon is offering what they are calling “trial memberships” for the first time in 2018, in which fans can purchase a pass good for Saturday and Sunday, or just for Sunday, at a discounted rate from the normal three-day weekend pass. More information about Otakon can be found at the convention website.
