Grab your controllers San Antonio residents, PAX South is heading your way on January 18-20, 2019! This gaming convention is taking place at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center on 900 East Market Street in San Antonio, Texas.
During the show, players can visit with exhibitors ranging from AAA publishers and developers to innovative indie teams. There will also be a mega-tournament spanning the entire length of PAX, known as the Omegathon. This event features games of all platforms and genres beginning with 20 Omeganauts before crowning an ultimate winner. PAX South will also feature musical performances, additional tournaments, pin trading, diversity lounge, handheld lounge, PC arena and a tabletop indie showcase. Plus freeplay areas with hundreds of tables and a lending library for RPG, consoles and virtual reality games.
Select events taking place throughout the weekend include Storytime with Cory Barlog, PAX Arena PUBG Freeplay, Magic the Gathering: 8-Player Chaos Booster Draft, Dice, Camera, Action: Live!, Penny Arcade Q&A, and 7 Blunders. PAX South will also feature panels on such topics as “Nostalgia vs Game Design,” “Trials and Tribulations of Video Game Cosplay,” “How to Find the Best Video Game Deals,” “Streaming 101: Launching your Broadcast,” and so much more!
The con is running Friday 10 AM to 12 AM, Saturday 10 AM to 12 AM, and Sunday 10 AM to 7 PM. General registration passes are $42.75 for either Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. A three-day registration pass is available for $85.75.
