On January 20, 2019, Philadelphia Comic-Con is being held at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center on 76 Industrial Highway in Essington, Pennsylvania. 

The annual convention is being held in the 4,500 square-foot Presidential ballroom with with over 30 vendors from 6 different states. During the show, attendees have the chance to purchase comic books ranging from the 1940s up to this month’s current titles. Graphic novels, collecting supplies, DVDs, original artwork, key comics such as a X-Men #1 and a Justice League #1 will also be in sale at the show. Along with statues, Funko Pop figures, action figures, toys, and a whole host of other related collectibles.

Special guest artists appearing at the show include Bob Petrecca, Paris Cullins, and Jay Taylor. Cullins is the creator behind the Blue Devil character, which has recently been optioned for a feature film. Cullins and Petrecca have both worked together for DC Comics and separately for Marvel Comics along with other publishers. Taylor, a South Jersey native, is the creative director for On The Square Comics – home to such series as Centralia and Opposing Forces

The one-day show is located between exits 8 and 9A off of I-95, convenient to all other major highways and bridges. Those using public transportation may use Septa as bus route 37 stops directly in front of the hotel grounds, while those flying into the Philadelphia Airport can take advantage of the free shuttle. 

Philadelphia Comic-Con is running Sunday 10 AM to 4 PM. Admission is $3 per person, with kids 10 and under admitted for free with an adult admission. Parking is free but is limited.
