The 35th annual Sakura Matsuri took place at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens from April 30 to May 1, 2016, filling the grounds with people of all sorts, including many cosplayers looking to take advantage of the colorful scenery.

Events this year included various musical performances, from traditional taiko drumming to more modern J-rock, tea ceremonies, art presentations, and many others. Attendees could also attend workshops on manga drawing, learn to play shogi and go, or simply check out the Japanese market.
