David Lloyd, who co-created V for Vendetta and authored the noir graphic novel Kickback, has launched a new online comics anthology, Aces Weekly. And for it, he said, he’s gathered together top talents from the US, UK, France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, China, New Zealand and the Philippines.

Aces Weekly is sold by subscription in seven-issue volumes. For the price of the $9.99 (£6.99 or €7.99) subscription, there is at least 126 pages of top quality comic material, he said.

Included in the first slate of stories are Valley Of Shadows by David Lloyd & Dave Jackson, Return Of The Human by Scoop’s own J.C. Vaughn & Mark Wheatley, Progenitor by Phil Hester & John McCrea, Paradise Mechanism by David Hitchcock, Shoot For The Moon by Alexandre Tefenkgi & Alain Mauricet, and three-pagers by Lew Stringer, Carl Critchlow, Mychailo Kazybrid, David Leach, Phil Elliott, Esteban Hernandez and Rory Walker.

Each weekly issue (and each complete volume) will also contain extras such as concept and developmental material, sketchbook pages, and more. Once Volume One concludes, there will be a two-week break before the second one begins.

Scoop sent videographer Kevin Brennan and photographer Michael Solof to talk to Lloyd about the procject.
